The Events that the PFA have planned for the year.We have lots of exciting fundraising events taking place over the Spring and Summer terms to help reach our £15,000 target for the year!

There will be more details to follow on all these events, but in the meantime please put them in your diary and do let us know if you are able to help out in any way you can – we always need more help to allow these fun events to go ahead and to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair – we raised a whopping £3,650 from the fair, and, together with the many other Christmas fundraising initiatives – Secret Room, Christmas Crèche, discos, pantomime and bags/tea towels, we raised a grand total of £5,660 during December, so we are already well on our way to reaching our target!

The money we raise goes directly back into the school, to enhance the learning environment and provide additional resources for each and every pupil. With the current funding shortfall in schools across West Sussex our additional support is more important than ever, and this year we plan to fund a number of curricular activities and special workshops as well as enhancing outdoor learning initiatives.

We wouldn’t be able to do this without your help and support, so thank you for attending and contributing to all our fundraising activities. Here’s a list of what we have planned so far…

 Other news

AED update – Last year, we were asked by the school to help raise money to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the school. AEDs are portable devices used to treat sudden cardiac arrest (which can occur in adults and in children) and the school would like to mount one on the wall outside the building so that it can also be accessed outside of school hours by local residents or those using the Community Room. We are delighted to announce that we have now raised enough funds and will shortly be purchasing the AED. In addition to PFA fundraising, we received donations from the East Grinstead Lions Club (£600), Garnham H Bewley (£100) and parents and friends of the school via our justgiving page – including one very generous donation of £900. Thank you!

Second-hand uniform – The PFA has a selection of second-hand uniform available to buy, priced from 50p to £1. All items are freshly washed! To check stock or to buy, please contact Lisa Boland on 07549 940887 or contact us via the PFA Facebook page. We also hold regular sales after school and at our Summer Fair, so look out for us there. If you would like to donate any old uniform (sweatshirts, cardigans, trousers, shorts, dresses, skirts, pe kit, coats) then please drop it off at the school office marked for the attention of Lisa Boland, thank you. – Do you shop online? Next time you do please save as a ‘Favourite’ and then use the site before shopping. There are links to more than 2,000 retailers and each one will donate a percentage of your shop to the school. For example, Amazon will donate 1.5%. It doesn’t cost anything and is an easy way to raise money for the school.

Next meeting – Our next PFA meeting will be on Tuesday 7th February at 7.30pm at the Old Dunnings Mill pub. Please do come along for this informal meeting, where we’ll be discussing forthcoming events and planning the Summer Fair. We would love to have your input, suggestions and support, and there will be no pressure to join the PFA. Look forward to seeing you there!
